Our philosophy
We believe the best learning happens off-screen, but tech has its place in quick quizzes, checks, and confidence-building practice: short, low-stakes retrieval and regular review can strengthen learning and help spot what to practise next.
By removing paywalls and keeping things simple, we make it easier for parents and teachers to stay closely involved in a child’s learning — and that kind of engagement is consistently linked with better outcomes.
Our tools
To begin with, we’ve made two tools to support statutory checks in England (and used more widely across British-curriculum schools):
- KS1 Phonics Screening Check — practice for the Year 1 phonics check
- Times Tables Check — a multiplication practice system that can mimic the Year 4 Multiplication Tables Check
